DIY Part I

I've been absent from the blog world for the past month due to a room makeover, school starting, and a whole lot of sickness in our house. Big Poppa had the flu, Silly had pneumonia, The Rock Star had a sinus infection-not once, but twice-and I've had an upper respiratory infection that I can't seem to shake.
Anywho, moving on to the room makeover. The Rock Star's bedroom got a little face lift and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I would like to add that there is a reason why God gave different people different talents and painting has not been one of mine, but I am learning. By trial and error! The first 6 are before. It was an office at one time.
The next 4 are after. The lighting is off, but I love the color. It is Harvest Brown. I got these cabinet doors at a yard sale for $.50 each. I just used a little spackle to fill in the holes & repainted them. (And hung them a little crooked) I spray painted my $.25 basket and added it to the side table. My step-dad made the bar/table and attached it to the wall. Everything else was stuff we already had that either got painted or pulled from another room. Check out my picture thingy with the CD's in it. I saw something similar to this in a youth room at a church. The Rock Star opted for a micro-fiber blanket for his bed instead of a comforter. I can't say I blame him because they are so warm!
I have 3 more rooms to go! Crazy? Uh, yes!
Happy Monday!
