He passed!

WooHoo! The Rock Star passed his test and can now drive on the open road (with an adult of course) and not just in the neighborhood. He drove home from the DDS, to church last night, and to school this morning. I let him drive last night to drop off one of his friends from church, but it started raining really hard, so I had to take over. I told him I couldn't handle that, not yet anyway. Rain during the day-yes, night time no rain-yes, but not all together. We'll get there. I may never get to drive again.
If you see this car on the road take caution. LOL! He really is a good driver.
If it's not him driving it will be some other teenage driver. Yes, I'm THAT parent! What's a girl to do? Here's a couple of pictures from the day. The first one was, you are NOT going to take a picture of me here and the second one was, if you want to drive home I will. Ha! I think I'm going to like this.

And of course I couldn't pass up a photo opportunity of Silly.

Hope everybody has had a good week.

15!

Happy Birthday to The Rock Star! He is 15 today. He's so handsome!

You know it's a good day when your kids let you take a picture of them at 7:30 in the morning and they smile! Pray for me-he takes his learner's test today. I swore he wouldn't drive until he was 18! Don't you just love it when you have to eat your own words?

DIY Part II

Hot mess #1 & 2! Big Poppa's office

It's amazing what a little paint & some cleaning will do!

Next on my list is Silly's playroom. I am so excited about this little project.

5 Years & a Birthday

Today was opening session for the college where I work and I got this
for my 5 years of service. We are moving to a new office in a few weeks and it will look really good on my new desk!
Next week The Rock Star will be 15! I cannot believe it. Time goes by so fast.
Happy Hump Day!

DIY Part I

I've been absent from the blog world for the past month due to a room makeover, school starting, and a whole lot of sickness in our house. Big Poppa had the flu, Silly had pneumonia, The Rock Star had a sinus infection-not once, but twice-and I've had an upper respiratory infection that I can't seem to shake.
Anywho, moving on to the room makeover. The Rock Star's bedroom got a little face lift and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I would like to add that there is a reason why God gave different people different talents and painting has not been one of mine, but I am learning. By trial and error! The first 6 are before. It was an office at one time.
The next 4 are after. The lighting is off, but I love the color. It is Harvest Brown. I got these cabinet doors at a yard sale for $.50 each. I just used a little spackle to fill in the holes & repainted them. (And hung them a little crooked) I spray painted my $.25 basket and added it to the side table. My step-dad made the bar/table and attached it to the wall. Everything else was stuff we already had that either got painted or pulled from another room. Check out my picture thingy with the CD's in it. I saw something similar to this in a youth room at a church. The Rock Star opted for a micro-fiber blanket for his bed instead of a comforter. I can't say I blame him because they are so warm!
I have 3 more rooms to go! Crazy? Uh, yes!
Happy Monday!
