You got sum splaining to do Lucy...

My friend sent me this article about "Multiracial People Now Fastest Growing U.S. Group". (not just black and white) Obviously, from our photo you can see we are a multiracial family. On to the not so self-explanatory part. The Rock Star is perfectly happy with his race, he thinks it makes him hotter (not sweaty), cooler, and loved by all, but Silly is a whole nuther (is that a word) story. She will argue with you all day that her bubby is black like his daddy and she is white like her mommy. So, maybe it's time I stop letting her think whatever she wants and tell her the cold hard facts. She's going to be devastated to say the least. There will be flailing and lots of tears. Just kidding! For those of you who don't know us in real life, we are very down to earth kind of people and know the importance of who we are. It has not always been easy either. I will share that story one day soon.

Have a good weekend!

Kitchen Invasion

My kitchen is being invaded by these pesky little creatures. It is about to drive me crazy! Does anyone have any home remedies for me to try? I have tried grits, pepper, & baby powder. As you can see I'm willing to try whatever you say. I am at your mercy.

Yummy cuteness

This past weekend was a busy one for us with the first date (pictures soon to follow) and all, but i did manage to do a little something for Silly's class. She will be graduating from kindergarten tomorrow. Here's the picture of it. You can go here if you would like to get the recipe. I did modify mine a little just to make my life easier, but the results were the same.

I also made a new dish that I got from Kelly's blog under recipes. I modified it as well, only because I don't like the taste of "stuffing." I used bread crumbs instead. It was delicious. We had rice pilaf with it. I will go ahead and confess here-my family has a love for the flavored rice (Knorr Rice Sides) that comes in a bag or maybe it's just me because it's cheap and easy (microwaveable) to fix. The bowl is always empty though, so we'll just go with they love it. I was feeling all domesticated!

Calling all saved and unsaved

Please go here and watch the video posted on Pete's blog today.
If you consider yourself saved, may this shake you as it did me and if you are not, then may it shake you as well.

First Date

Well it's finally happened. The Rock Star is going on his first official date! Insert tears! He is taking Baby Girl to a Ball tomorrow night. It's sort of like a mini prom. It aint been easy on the wallet either. By the time it's all said and done it will have cost us around $200. Ok-mini promish-I knew it would cost, but come on he's only 14! Oh well, one things for sure they can both say their first date was definitely memorable. I can't wait to see them all dressed up. More tears!
Anywho....hope you all have a great weekend.

Dead hairy animals and..............

Other random things you may see while taking pictures in strange places.

Silly just about stepped on this walking down the railroad tracks. I'm not gonna lie we both squealed a little. It looks like dead hairy animal in picture #1 had too much of what was in the bottle in picture #3 and tried to get to what is in picture #2 but just didn't make it.
I got some really good shots that a friend of mine is "fixing" for me that I will post after I get them back. We did this on Mother's Day and it was a lot of fun. Too bad I couldn't get The Rock Star to go. Maybe next time.

Happy Mother's Day

To my sweet moma! I love you!

WHAT is that in my.....

Microwave? Is that charcoal? Lava Rocks? Ceramic Briquettes?
No, it's none of the above. It's pizza rolls!

This is what you get when your 14 year old tells your 5 year old how long to cook pizza rolls! Dinner anyone? Needless to say, my microwave is shot and my house smells like 3 day old burnt popcorn.
Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

Who would've thunk it?

Who would have ever thought that in small town USA we would be the first in GA to get the Swine flu? Any thoughts about this string of the flu that has everyone in panic mode?
