New Words

I told you before there really should be a dictionary for words that children come up with. Silly and her neighbor friend came in on Sunday to see if I would paint their nails. I did. So, with their nails done and a little help from things in the picture (these are some of the things she got for Christmas instead of toys) below they were FABLIOUS! So cute! Thanks to the magazine to the right she thinks she can call Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, and all of the cast in Camp Rock and invite them to her birthday party (which BTW is not until June). It sure is hard to explain to a 5 year old that that is just not the way it works. But they have numbers in there for you to call them is all she could say. Just a word of advice-before giving your child one of these magazines go through it with a permanent marker and cross out anything that resembles a phone number, even if it only contains 3 numbers! Chalk it up to a defect in the publishing.

Not enough time

There is just not enough time in the day to get the things done that need to be done. Too bad we can't stretch those weekend days a little. The Rock Star has 3 birthday parties to go to tomorrow. 1 during the day and 2 that night. Good thing I am a bargain shopper. Teenage birthday parties sure have changed a lot since.......we won't say how long ago, but it has been a while. The last 2 he has been to have been a little pricey. The first one they took a stretch limo to ATL to go to Underground and the second one they went to play Laser Tag at the Mall, to Underground, and to Cascade to go skating. He was like I need about $50 each time (not including the gift or what he may have done the night before that he needed money for)! It definitely has me rethinking what we will do this year for him. Anywho, Silly gets to go to the 1st party- all the youth girls love her and she loves them even more, so I am going to get a pedi/mani with my gift certificates from V-day. Good times!
Let me hear from all you out there in bloggy land. Do you remember the best party you ever had or went to?

Lipstick

I tend to stick to one brand and shade of lipstick until they discontinue it. Some of my all time favorites have been Suede by Mary Kay and Guava Stain by Clinique. At the moment I am stuck on #430, Bistro Burgundy by Cover Girl. Does that make me a creature of habit or is it that I just don't like change? Either way, what's your favorite?

Sentimental Value

These boots were the Rock Star's when he was Silly's age. We have had them for over 10 years. The first time she put them the whole bottom of the boot came off because the glue was so old. My daddy had them fixed for me (thanks daddy) and she has them on today. She couldn't wait to wear her bubbies boots.
My question to you is, what do you have that has sentimental value?

I know, I know, I'm late, but...

We just watched Fireproof this weekend. It was by far the best movie I have seen. I don't like to spend money going to the movies, so I always wait for them to come out on DVD. We also watched The Express. It was very good as well. Sad, but good. If you have not seen Fireproof I highly recommend it.
Happy Monday!

Grounded!

The Rock Star is grounded for life. Just kidding! But he is grounded indefinitely. I have finally stuck to it after 14 years of saying it one day and giving in the next (he has his mother's heart on a string). It's not because he did some horrible thing, but he has been having some difficulty with his grades so until they are all in good standing he has no cell phone (his life line), computer, girlfriend, 4-wheeler, or skating. He can't go anywhere or do anything. After 2 short weeks he has pulled 2 grades up and has 2 more to go. By Thursday he will have stayed after school 3 days this week to get extra help. Poor Silly is also suffering the consequences. They usually go skating every Friday night. She said it just wasn't fair that her bubbie was grounded. It has been very peaceful around our house without all the hustle and bustle of going here and there. Amazing how fast they can learn when they have to.
